Henzgen, the Regis volleyball team prevailed 25-23, 25-18,
25-17 over UC-Colorado Springs in Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference action.
Regis, (11-6, 6-2 RMAC) and UC-Colorado Springs (10-7, 4-4 RMAC)
each hit well in the first set, .279 and .286 respectively.
Regis showed their might in sets three and four hitting .219 in set
two and an astounding .438 in set three. Just like the other
night when the Rangers had a 100 percent sideout rate, tonight they
had an 88 percent success rate in the third set.
The Mountain Lions hit just .165 for the match, the third time
in a row and five in the last six matches that the Rangers have
limited their opponent to under .200 hitting. In four of
those matches, the Rangers have prevailed.
Senior Erin Anderson had
five of her seven kills in set number three as she led all with a
.538 attack percentage to go along with four blocks.
Fellow senior, setter Devin Eckhardt
had her some kind of game. She had 36 assists, 12.00 per set,
11 digs, five blocks and two kills to help the Rangers to 10 total
team blocks.
Senior Jessica Howe also
had seven kills, while senior Kerry Grady chipped
in with six. Defensively two other Rangers were in double
figure digs led by freshman Sage Martinson's
13 and senior Sarah Keiter's
season-high 10.
Junior Lyz Kann helped
out immensely on the defensive end with five total blocks including
two solos, while also gathering four kills.
Regis will take their three-match winning streak to the
foothills where they will meet east division foe Colorado Mines on
Saturday night in Golden, Colo.
