Box Score Gunnison, Colo.: The 25th ranked Regis University volleyball team only trailed for seven points in the Rangers 3-0 sweep of Western State in RMAC action.
Regis improved to 8-2 on the season and opened the RMAC portion of their schedule with the straight set 25-19, 25-13, 25-19 victory over the Mountaineers (3-6, 0-1 RMAC).
The Rangers moved the ball around offensively with seniors Kyndell Highland and Lyz Kann pounding home nine and eight kills respectively. Kann hit .538 for the match but Regis hit just .220 for the game. However, the Ranger defense was again up to the challenge and limited WSC to just a .037 attack percentage. It marks the fifth time this season already the Rangers have limited a team to under .100 attack percentage.
Senior Cassidee Young dug out a match-high 13 digs, while sophomore Jaymee Kau had 10.
Regis continues action tomorrow night as they travel through the mountains towards Grand Junction to take on Colorado Mesa.
