Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. - After a second set slip, Regis volleyball defeated Colorado State University Pueblo (7-13, 5-6 RMAC) in four sets. The first set ended with the Rangers racing past the Thunderwolves, 25-12. CSU Pueblo responded to steal the second set, 25-12. RU wrapped up the match posting a 26-24 win in the third and a 25-17 win in the fourth.
"The Rangers had a great digging match, averaging 25 per set. Our middle hitters were very effective which opened up opportunities for our pin hitters," said head coach

The Rangers jumped out to a 3-0 lead to start off the match. Colorado State University Pueblo responded with four points of their own. A kill from
Maggie Steward sparked a run for Regis as they advanced their lead, 11-5. RU led for the rest of the set ending on top, 25-12.
The second set told a different tale as CSU Pueblo tied up the match 1-1. The ThunderWolves started out with a 1-5 lead from which the Rangers weren't able to mount a comeback. Â Down 5-10, a kill by
Caitlyn Martinez initiated a ten-point run for the Rangers while only allowing three CSU Pueblo points. The rest of the set was back and forth with Regis posting their last lead at 23-19. The ThunderWolves had a surge late in the set to put up the last six points of the set and defeat the Rangers 25-23.
Neither team established a strong lead out of the gates in the third set. The first 18 points were a constant battle reaching a tie at 9-9. The 9-9 tie was just the second tie of the nine total throughout the set. The Rangers never held a lead larger than two points eventually taking the match 26-24.
Rangers took control in the fourth set. RU never trailed and posted their largest lead of eight points two times. A kill from
Katie Klein started the set for Regis. The ThunderWolves answered with a point of their own only to be followed by three straight Ranger kills to take a 4-1 lead. Regis held a commanding lead for the majority of the set gaining their first eight point lead at 22-14. CSU Pueblo attempted a comeback only to be defeated 25-17.
Klein led the Rangers in kills posting 20. Steward and
Kelsey Green followed with 11 kills each.
Jaclyn Williamson led in the assists column tallying 34. Along with her 11 kills, Steward had 22 digs.
Drew Rhamy and
Kristina Schell finished just behind recording 21 digs each.
Cedar Bellows,
Yagoda Jedrzejczak and Green all finished with three blocks, Bellows adding one solo.
Lavrisha said, "The third set was a gutsy win and we carried that momentum throughout the fourth to come away with the match win.

This win puts Regis at an overall record of 13-8 and 8-4 in RMAC play. The Rangers stay on the road as they travel to New Mexico Highlands University (5-11, 2-9 RMAC). Game time is set for a 6 p.m. start tomorrow, October 22, in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
