Frank Lavrisha to be Inducted into RMAC Hall of Fame

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference has announced its 2026 Hall of Fame Class, and Regis' Frank Lavrisha will be enshrined in the hall this summer. Lavrisha was the Head Coach of the Rangers Women's Volleyball team for 30 years (1986-01, 2003-2016).

The three-time RMAC Coach of the Year, as well as three-time Colorado Athletic Conference (CAC) Coach of the Year, compiled a 637-353 (.643) record in his career at RU, including 270-124 (.685) in RMAC play. He led the Rangers to three RMAC Conference Titles (seven CAC/CDC Titles), four RMAC Tournament Championships, and 20 NCAA Tournament Appearances, including a pair of final four runs in 1988 and 1998.

The 1997 team reached the NCAA National Quarterfinals and finished the season ranked No. 3 nationally. The 1998 edition climbed as high as No. 2 in the national rankings and reached the National Semifinals. Those two teams were inducted into the RMAC Hall of Fame in 1998, and Melinda Almazan, a member of both teams and the AVCA Player of the Year in 1998, was named to the RMAC's Volleyball Centennial Team.

Lavrisha coached 19 All-Americans (8 First-Teamers), seven Academic All-Americans, two RMAC Summit Award Winners, one RMAC Academic Player of the Year, two RMAC Freshman of the Year, two RMAC Preseason Defensive Players of the Year, and two RMAC Tournament MVPs.

Lavrisha was also deeply involved in the national volleyball community, having twice served as a U.S. Olympic Festival head coach, assisting the USA Youth National Team to the NORCECA Championship in 2006 and the World Championships in 2007.

         Eduardo Navas-Rodriguez (Western Colorado, Men's Track & Field, 1988)

         Derrick White (UCCS, Men's Basketball, 2015)

         1995-96 Fort Hays State Men's Basketball Team

         1990 Western Colorado Women's Cross Country Team

The 2026 RMAC Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony will be held in conjunction with the league's 2026 Awards Banquet on Thursday, July 9, at the COS City Hub in Colorado Springs.
