The Regis University volleyball team closed out their weekend at Fort Lewis College on Saturday afternoon, but fell to the Skyhawks, 1-3 (18-25, 15-25, 26-24, 20-25). The Rangers fall to 1-11 (0-4), while the Skyhawks improve to 7-5 (2-2 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite a kill from Lauryn Uyemura, FLC jumped out to a strong early lead. Alayna Pruitt sparked a run that included an ace from Aaliyah Rodrakkwan to bring the game back within one, and Morgan Munro and Kailyn Polzin both supplied aces, but the Skyhawks continued to pull away. Cady Knight added an ace of her own to bring the score to 21-16, but Fort Lewis stayed in control, winning 25 to 18.
Lynn Sanders would pace the Rangers offense early in the second, helped by Krissy Brei service ace, but a quick run gave the Skyhawks a 15-9 advantage. Munro ended the run, while Kendall Allaire put down a pair of kills and Nicole shaver add in an ace. But FLC did not relent, taking the second 25 to 15.
Shaver opened the third set with an ace, while Sabrina Landman and Callie Parker contributed to the offensive attack. Back to back kills from Munro and Landman brought the score to 13-14. The squads traded points, with Sanders and Parker earning killa, then assisting a block for RU. FLC was on set point, when Regis scored three straight times, including back-to-back kills from Landman for the 26-24 win.
The Skyhawks took back the momentum in the third, taking an early 8-3 lead. Sanders recorded a kill and solo block , while Polzin earned a kill and Allaire-assisted block to keep RU in the game. Parker added a kill, while Munro and Allaire put down a final block, but FLC won, 25-20.

UP NEXT
The Rangers play in their RMAC regional pod next week, including a trip to CSU Pueblo on Tuesday, and hosting UCCS on Friday. Neither game counts toward their RMAC record.
