Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Regis University men's soccer team advanced to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament final defeating the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Mountain Lions (13-4-1) 2-1, Friday night. This win gave head coach
Tony McCall his 100
th career win at the helm.

Play throughout the first half was even as Regis slightly outshot the Mountain Lions 7-5. UCCS got on the board first in the 22
nd minute but the Rangers evened it up less than 30 seconds later.
Tom Grimley notched his ninth goal of the season scoring the equalizer off a rebound.

The score remained locked 1-1 at the break. The second half was similar to that of the first as the Mountain Lions forced
Chase Webert to make four saves. Then, in the 75
th minute,
Brian Strasbaugh netted the game-winning goal and his first this season burying one in the back of the net on a pass across the top of the penalty mark from
Noah Chapleski.

A statistically even match throughout, the Rangers held off UCCS for the remainder of the game to advance to the championship. RU slightly won the shot battle 13-12, led by Grimley with three. Both teams saw two corner kick opportunities and Webert finished the game with six total saves.

Regis improves to an overall record of 14-3-1 and will face No. 16 Colorado Mesa Mavericks Sunday, November 6 at 1 p.m. in the RMAC Tournament final. RU is seeking revenge as these two teams previously met a week ago with the result ending in favor of the Mavericks, 3-2.
