Box Score LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The No. 9 Regis University men's soccer team improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play after turning a 1-0 result over the Colorado Christian Cougars, Friday afternoon.

The Rangers dominated possession of play and scoring opportunities taking 27 shots to the Cougars six, 15 of which were on goal. The eventual goal-scorer of the match, Tom Grimley, hit the post just two minutes into the start of the game.

RU continued applying pressure to the Cougars backline until the silence was broken in the 32^nd minute. Porter Milner's dangerous flip throw-in proved successful yet again. Grimley netted his fifth goal of the season by getting on the end of one of Milner's infamous throw-ins. This goal marked Grimley's third game-winning goal thus far this season. The first half came to a close with Regis in control, 1-0, holding Colorado Christian to just two shots.

The Rangers turned up the pressure and were on the verge of another goal throughout the length of the second half. RU recorded 18 second half shots and nine corner kicks but never found the back of the net again. The Cougars developed a counterattack a couple times throughout the second half but the solid defensive line of Regis kept CCU from finding the equalizer. Jacob Lever recorded six shots, four on goal, to lead the Rangers.

Chase Webert saw all 90 minutes of action between the posts for the Rangers, making four saves. Webert moves to an overall record of 8-0 while helping RU to tally their sixth shutout of the season.

Regis will return home to the Match Pitch to host Colorado Mines on Sunday, October 2 at 3 p.m.
