DURANGO, Colo. - The Regis University men's soccer season came to an end at the hands of Fort Lewis College. The Skyhawks (10-5-4, 9-3-2 RMAC) defeated Regis (8-9, 6-8 RMAC) 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) postseason tournament.

How It Happened: FLC opened the scoring 33 minutes into the contest when Ryan Lee assisted Raul Pescador who scored from 10 yards out.

The teams battled back and forth throughout the second half but it was the Skyhawks' Max Fuentes that was able to net the second goal of the game in the 81
st minute. He was in the right position to knock in a rebound that came off the shot of Hakeen Rabiu.

Less than a minute later, FLC extended their lead to three when Landon Gibson was able to beat junior goalkeeper
Chase Webert from the left side of the 18-yard box.

Game Notes: The Rangers had more scoring opportunities than the Skyhawks but were unable to put their chances away. RU tallied 22 total shots and nine on target compared to 15 shots and eight on frame for FLC.

The Skyhawks goalkeeper Peter Byrne saved all nine shots that came his way while Webert was credited with five saves in the match.

The men's soccer team had an up and down 2017 campaign as they finished sixth in the very difficult RMAC. Although the team was unable to advance to the second round of the RMAC tournament, they have a host of young and returning talent and will look to build on the success they had this year to improve for the 2018 season.
