RU annihilate New Mexico Highlands University 100-52

LAS VEGAS, N.M. – The Regis University women's basketball team (10-8, 9-4 RMAC) extended their win streak to three by putting up triple-digits for the first time this year as they dominated New Mexico Highlands University (4-15, 2-13 RMAC) 100-52 on Friday night.
 
How it Happened: Regis shot lights-out from the field (34-57 FG, 19-32 3-pt) for a 59.6 shooting percentage, their highest of the year. On the other side of the ball, NMHU made just 28.6 percent of their shot attempts (18-63 FG, 7-24 3-pt).
 
The Rangers started the game on a 17-0 run in the first five minutes and never allowed the Cowgirls to cut the lead under nine. RU held a 37-point advantage at halftime (59-22).
 
Regis added more cushion to their lead in the third quarter as they throttled NMHU with 29-points in 10-minutes. The Rangers then extended their advantage to as many as 60 and never allowed the Cowgirls with 45 in the fourth quarter.
 
Game Notes: Senior Chante Church led all scorers with 28-points, shooting 8-for-12 from the field and 6-for-9 from three-point land. Senior Mary Sigler scored 16, followed by junior Morgan Ducklow who had a career-night with 14-points. Freshman Emma Sterkel and senior Majestie Robinson also scored in double-digits with 13 and 10 respectively.
 
The Rangers gathers just seven offensive boards but managed to grab 32 defensive rebounds. Junior Shelby Espinosa had a team-high seven rebounds followed by four other teammates with five.
 
Up Next for the Rangers: The women's basketball team will travel to Pueblo to face Colorado State University-Pueblo on January 27 at 5:30 p.m.
