GOLDEN, Colo. – Regis women's basketball (16-12, 14-8 RMAC) dominated Colorado Mines (18-11, 15-7 RMAC) in the opening game of the RMAC Tournament winning 68-40. 
 
How It Happened: Colorado Mines was first to score with a layup in the opening minute of play. Senior 
Chante Church answered with a layup of her own. 
 
At the 6:11 mark freshman 
Emma Sterkel hit a free-throw to spark a 10-0 Regis run. The Orediggers stopped the bleeding with 1:29 left in the first quarter. 
 
The Rangers ended the first ten minutes with a layup and a 16-8 lead. 
 
Mines came out on a five-point run to kick off the second quarter. Sophomore 
McKenna Bishop sunk a jumper at 7:03 to keep an 18-13 lead. The Orediggers answered right back with a jumper but remained scoreless for the final 6:40 of the half. 
RU took advantage of the lack of offensive production from Mines and went on an 8-0 run to close out the first half. Regis headed to halftime with a 26-15 lead.
 
Out of the break, Mines was first to a bucket, but the Rangers responded with five quick points to keep a 31-17 lead. 
 
Scoring was evenly spread amongst both teams until the 2:06 mark. RU closed out the third with an 11-0 run to head to the final period with their largest lead of 20 points. Regis never let Mines closer than a nine-point deficit in the third. 
 
Junior 
Majestie Robinson kicked off the fourth with a three-pointer giving the Rangers a 55-32 lead. RU held a commanding lead throughout the rest of the game adding 16 more points in the fourth. The Orediggers managed only eight more points in the last ten minutes for a final score of 68-40. 
 
Game Notes: Senior 
Mary Sigler paved the way offensively scoring 15 points. She also grabbed six rebounds. Freshman 
Whitney Jacob led in the rebounding department with seven. Robinson dished out five assists and had a steal. As a team, Regis shot 37.3% from the field and 38.5% from behind the arc.
