CHICO, Calif. – The Regis University women's soccer team (0-1-1) matched-up against the San Francisco State University Golden Gators (1-1) for the first time in program history on Sunday. The game tilted in the favor of the Golden Gators, 1-0.
How It Happened: The Rangers headed into halftime with a 1-0 deficit after surrendering a goal in the 29
th minute of action.
The Golden Gators won a loose ball around the half-line and proceeded to dribble down the left flank. Just before running out of real estate, SF managed to play a ball across the box, ending in a tap in goal at the back post.
Just four minutes into the match, sophomore
Keegan Storlie recorded her first shot of the season. She was able to get another crack at goal in the 34
th minute, but like her first attempt, it ended in a save.
Three other RU players gave it their best effort in the first half but were unable to find the back of the net. Regis placed three-of-five first half shots on frame, more than doubling their shot total from the previous game.
The Rangers came out of the break hungry for a goal, generating three scoring opportunities in the first 10 minutes. RU generated a dangerous scoring opportunity in the 63

Tori Rinsem played a dangerous ball on the ground across the box.
The San Francisco State goalkeeper was forced to make two saves in the final three minutes of the game to secure the 1-0 win for the Gators.

The Rangers had five corner kick opportunities in the second half, pacing them to seven corner kicks compared to the Golden Gators' 2.
