DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University women's soccer team (3-3-2, 2-2-0 RMAC) conceded a golden-goal in the 95
thminute as they fell to Westminster College 6-1-0, 3-0-0 RMAC) on Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened: The game was evenly matched with each team trying to find ways to penetrate in the first 20 minutes of play. The first stat of the game was recorded in the 22
ndminute with a Regis corner kick.

Julia Coombs faced her first two shots in a two-minute span, saving one and watching one go wide of the target.

Natasha Wehner subbed into the game in the 24
thminute and proved to be a game changer. Just five minutes after she stepped onto the field she managed the Rangers first shot of the game. Her attempt at goal found the back of the net and put RU ahead 1-0. Assisting her goal was senior
Bethany Hohnstein, who tapped the ball past the charging Westminster keeper allowing Wehner an empty-net goal.
The Griffins scored the equalizing goal with 1:08 remaining in the first half.
Senior
Annika Hills was fouled inside the penalty box as she went up for a header, earning a penalty kick opportunity for Regis. Senior
Cat Devitt took advantage of the opportunity and buried the penalty-kick into the bottom left corner of the net, regaining the advantage for the Rangers 2-1.
Westminster was awarded a penalty-kick of their own with 25 minutes left to play in regulation. The penalty kick barley got by the outstretched hands of Coombs and into the bottom left corner, evening the score at two apiece.
The score remained knotted throughout regulation. The Griffins were able to find the back of the net in a golden-goal style extra time, ending the game 3-2 after 95 minutes of play.
Game Notes: Wehner scored her second goal of the season as Hohnstein recorded her first assist.
Devitt scored her third goal of the season and placed all three of her shots on target, pacing RU to eight total shots and five on frame. Hills was the only other Regis player to attempt multiple shots, placing one of two on goal.
Coombs faced 12 totaled shots on her way to three saves.
Two cautions were given, one to Regis and one to Westminster.
