DENVER – The Regis University women's soccer team closed out its weekend in dominating fashion on the heels of scoring hat tricks from freshman forward Audrey Teague and junior forward Carly Bych as well as a hat trick of assists from junior forward Natasha Wehner to come away with a dominating 7-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference win against Western Colorado at Regis Match Pitch on Sunday.

"It's always exciting when your players step up and answer the call and produce good form," said coach J.B. Belzer. "[Audrey Teague and Carly Bych had] three goals each, dual hat tricks. You're very happy for those ladies. They had great games.

"As a team, we got the shutout, and that was first priority. We scored in a couple different matters. We didn't score in a couple of matters that we wanted to score in, and we still have to improve as we go through the rest of our RMAC season. But, we got loads of minutes to many players today, and it was a positive result for the Rangers."

How It Happened: Early in the 12th minute, senior midfielder Tori Rinsem served a low cross on the ground to the left side past sophomore goalkeeper Kaeyla Noble to Teague, who put the ball in the back of the net for the 1-0 advantage. That was all the Rangers would need and marked Teague's fourth game-winning goal of the season. However, Regis didn't let up on either offense or defense.

Wehner earned her first assist late in the 14th minute when she completed a pass to Teague, who scored to give RU its first of six insurance goals and a 2-0 lead.

In the 42nd minute, Bych entered the scorer column after receiving a ball that had touches from senior forward Chevonne John and freshman defender Ella Palmer for a 3-0 lead.

Wehner contributed to the scoring effort as well with the Rangers' first second-half goal in the 55th minute. This time, Wehner connected on Rinsem's cross in front of the goal and scored for a commanding 4-0 lead.

Bych successfully connected for a goal from Wehner's pass for the first of her last two goals at the 57:48 mark, giving Regis a 5-0 advantage.

Teague earned her hat trick, 6-0, in the 76th minute after the ball made contact with Teague and Palmer.

Bych capped the RU offensive effort and clinched her hat trick, 7-0, in the 85th minute. In fact, it was on the assist from Wehner that Wehner also sealed her unconventional hat trick of assists.

"Again, Natasha had a fantastic game as well with a goal and three assists, so, the assists hat trick," Belzer said. "She's doing a good job at playing her role for this team, and we're excited for her. We're excited that she's contributing so well to the team."

Junior goalkeeper Julia Coombs and sophomore goalkeeper Katelyn Martin combined for the Rangers' shutout.

Regis outshot the Mountaineers by a 28-4 margin, which included a 16-2 tally in shots-on-goal.

Bych (3 G, 10 S, 5 SOG) also earned her first-career hat trick while having half of her shots on-target. Wehner (1 G, 3 A, 3 S, 3 SOG) was the match's only player to have both at least a goal and an assist. Rinsem (2 A, 1 S, 1 SOG) earned credit for the assist on Teague's game-winning score. Up Next for the Rangers: RU climbs to a 6-2-2 record overall and a 4-1-1 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Rangers begin a road trip on Friday at New Mexico Highlands (0-6-0, 0-4-0 RMAC) with a 1 p.m. kickoff at City of Santa Fe Municipal Recreation Sports Complex.

Going into this week's road trip, Belzer said this is going to be somewhat of a trek into unexplored territory.

"It will be a tricky tide because it's on the road, and it's in a different locale than we've ever played," Belzer said. "We're not sure of the surface. We've seen some results with the other programs that have played. But, it's the RMAC, and you have to go earn your result every day, and we have to get better.

"We have to try to improve in our attacking efficiencies such that we can be well, come RMAC Tournament time if we qualify, and we have to continue to evolve defensively and be a lock-down defensive unit."
