11-straight wins, 26 set wins in a row, No. 10 Rangers take down Hardrockers in three

RAPID CITY S.D. – The No. 10 ranked Regis University volleyball team (20-3, 14-1 RMAC) wrapped up their South Dakota road trip with a 3-0 win over the South Dakota School of Mines Hardrockers (10-14, 6-9 RMAC). 
 
How It Happened: The streak continues for Regis who has now won 26 sets in a row without conceding.  The 11thconsecutive win for the Rangers was completed behind a truly remarkable offensive performance on Saturday. RU did not post a hitting percentage below .441 in the match.
 
Their best tally was a .630 attack percentage in the second set of the evening in which the team only had one error in 27 attempts with 18 kills. In the final set, they split the difference and hit .567. 
 
Match point was scored by Senior Nikki Kennedy who got her 11th kill of the evening on senior setter Silvia Basso's 51st assist of the evening. The 51 assists from Basso is tied for third-most in a three set match in Regis volleyball history. For the weekend, she had 91 assists in six sets for a 15.17 assists per set average. 
 
Game Notes: Junior Caitlyn Burroway finished the night with a match-high 15 kills and a .565 attack percentage. She also registered another double-double with her 10 digs. Kennedy and senior Izzy Gosar each had 11 kills while fellow senior Kelsey Green added 10 of her own. Freshman libero Leiana Leong tallied a match-best 15 digs and added a kill as well. 
 
Up Next for the Rangers: The No. 10 ranked Regis University volleyball team will make their way back to Denver and will quickly recover for a mid-week non-conference battle with cross-town rivals, the Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners. This match will take place on Tuesday, November 5 at 7 p.m. at MSU Denver.
