Former Regis women's soccer Standout, Kate (Murphy) Avila, to be inducted into RMAC Hall of Fame

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced on Wednesday that former Regis University women's soccer standout, Kate (Murphy) Avila (Regis, 2001-2006), will be inducted into the RMAC Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2019.

Avila was inducted into the Regis University Hall of Fame in 2016. She was a four-time All-RMAC First Team member, a two-time NSCAA All-American, also earning NSCAA All-Region First Team honors and in 2001 she was named the RMAC Freshman of the Year. She helped lead the team to a program record 18 wins in 2001, which was then broken in 2004 when she helped lead the team to 19 wins, which is still a program record. During her time as a Ranger, she was a part of a class that posted an overall record of 70-16. In 2001 Regis was both the RMAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions. Avila led the Rangers to three NCAA postseason appearances.

She netted 66 career goals and tallied 38 assists while recording 10-game winning goals. She recorded an RMAC record five goals in one game and ranks first all-time in the RMAC for most goals in a season with 31. She holds the all-time records in points (170), points per game (2.00), goals (66), goals per game (0.78), shots attempted (325), shots on goal (189) and shots on goal per game (2.22) at Regis.

Avila, and the rest of the Hall of Fame Class of 2019 will be inducted into the RMAC Hall of Fame on Friday, July 12 at the Colorado Springs Marriott Hotel.
