DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University baseball team is now 6-16 overall and 1-8 inside the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) after falling victim to No. 23 Colorado School of Mines (14-6, 5-4 RMAC) 1-10 on Friday afternoon at the Regis Baseball Field.
How It Happened: Regis took a 1-0 advantage over the No. 23 ranked Orediggers in the first inning. Junior
Ryan Tierney, the lead-off batter, reached first base via a throwing error by the third baseman. Three batters later, he came around to score the Rangers only run of the game.
RU held their 1-0 lead through two innings until the Orediggers knotted the score at one apiece in the third. Mines continued to stretch their advantage throughout the game, scoring two runs in the sixth, three in the eighth and four in the ninth. Regis placed runners on third base in the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth inning but could not find a way to move them home, eventually dropping game one of the series 1-10.

Ryan Hutchinson (2-4) recorded his first career multiple hit game. Joining him with more than one hit was senior
Connor Rochon (2-3) and sophomore
Thomas Alexander (2-3). The Rangers tallied eight hits compared to nine for the Orediggers.
Alexander accounted for 12 putouts and two assists at first base. The RU defense committed three errors while Mines was tagged with just one.
Senior
Chris Isbell is now 0-2 in the 2019 season. He pitched five complete innings, allowing three runs on four hits. Isbell fanned five batters. Four of the Orediggers' 10 runs were unearned.
