Belzer Adds Two Division I Transfers to 2019 Recruiting Class

DENVER, Colo. – Head Women's Soccer Coach J.B. Belzer announces the addition of redshirt junior Emily Goodson and sophomore Mara Driver, two NCAA Division I transfers, to the 2019 recruiting class. Both Goodson and Driver are natives of Denver, Colorado.

Emily Goodson
Redshirt Junior / Center Back/Center Midfielder / Aurora, CO / Creighton University
 
College:
Goodson took a redshirt year as a freshman at Creighton. She played 45 minutes in a 1-0 win over Omaha on August 27.
 
High School:
Goodson graduated from Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, Colorado where she received four varsity letters in soccer. In her senior season at Smoky Hill, she served as team captain, playing 1,235 minutes on the pitch. Goodson was named to the All-Centennial League First Team as a freshman before being named to the Second Team in as a junior. Emily played club soccer for the Colorado Storm '99 Select.
 
Coach Belzer on Goodson:
"Emily is a talented central defender with good communication skills. Emily impressed immediately during her one-time tryout this spring.  A member of CO Storm's ECNL 98 team, she will also strengthen our defending corps bringing her two-years of experience from Creighton University."

Mara Driver
Sophomore / Midfielder / Centennial, CO / University of Nebraska at Omaha
 
College:
Driver spent one season at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she played in seven games, totaling 69 minutes as a freshman. While at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, her team made an appearance in the 2018 Summit League Championship.
 
High School:
Driver graduated from Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado where she received two varsity letters and was named to the All-Academic First Team as a junior and a senior. Driver played club soccer for Colorado United Soccer Club. With Colorado United, she was an NPL Champion in 2016 as well as a two-time State Cup finalist.
 
Coach Belzer on Driver:
"Mara brings her midfield experience to strengthen our talented core of playmakers. A key player in Regis Jesuit HS's 2018 playoff run, Mara found time at UNO in the defensive midfield role appearing in the Summit League Tournament Final last November."
