DENVER - The Regis University men's basketball team (3-6) played their first home event after a tough seven-game road stretch, Friday night. They matched up against the Adams State University Grizzlies (5-3). The Rangers fell 64-69.
How it Happened: The Rangers came out swinging in the first half. Regis went on an immediate 7-2 run that was capped off by redshirt junior guard

Kai Daniels to make the score 16-10 in favor of RU. Scoring got even better as the half concluded, the team went on an 18-5 run. Senior guard
Brian Dawson scored eight of those points and redshirt sophomore guard/forward
Kevin Ebiriekwe and senior forward
Kevin Collins-Eason scored four each. The Rangers had a 15 point lead as the first 20 came to an end.Â
The second half was when ASU came alive, they went on a quick 21-6 run to tie the game up at 45 eight minutes in. The grizzlies started to pull away, but a 3-pointer by sophomore guard
Aaron Bokol kept things alive and the score tied up at 50 just a few minutes later. A 15-4 run by ASU sealed the deal for the Grizzlies. Dawson hit a late 3-pointer as time expired, but it was too late, the final score was 69-64.

Game Notes: Dawson has scored double-digits in seven of the nine total games played so far. Tonight, he had 19 points, four boards, two steals and two assists. Both Ebiriekwe and Daniels had season-highs in rebounds, they both had seven. Rebounding was a strong suit for Regis tonight, the team had 29 compared to ASU's 28. Turnovers proved to be an issue for RU, the grizzlies capitalized by scoring 31 points off of turnovers.Â
