DENVER - The Regis University women's soccer team (9-4-0, 6-2-0 RMAC) celebrated Senior Day with a victory over the Colorado Christian Cougars (4-6-3, 3-4-1 RMAC), Sunday afternoon. The setting was a beautiful sunny day on the Regis Match Pitch for a solid team victory as the team remains undefeated at home.
How it Happened: Junior
Kelby Kuo gave the Rangers the first goal of the game in the 17th minute when junior
Allison Warta fed Kuo a pass just outside of the 18. Kuo proceeded to drill a shot to the upper right corner to give Regis the 1-0 advantage. Then just before half, junior
Audrey Teague increased RU's lead to 2-0 when junior
Ella Palmer passed a great ball to Teague to give the team even more confidence heading into the half.
After the half, both teams were fighting hard, but Teague refused to back down and drilled a shot in the back of the net in the 71st minute to keep the Rangers out of reach from the Cougars off an assist from junior
Madison Hand.
CCU would finally find goal with four minutes left in the game, but it was too little too late as Regis held on to win it 3-1.
