DURANGO, Colo. - The Regis University men's basketball team (9-1,4-0 RMAC), who sit atop the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and are sixth in the DII NCAA South Central Regional rankings, continued their hot streak with a road win over the Fort Lewis Skyhawks (7-4,3-2 RMAC).
How it Happened: The Rangers didn't let a 7-0 Skyhawk run to start the game scare them. The team regained control midway through the first frame and continued to go on a 34-17 run to close the half. With Regis ahead 43-32 coming out of the locker room, the squad cooled off slightly as the FLC defense stiffened.
The Skyhawks came within one point of RU after a 7-0 run midway through the second half, but the Rangers again did not flinch. Regis lit it up for a 10-0 run and easily retook control of the game. The team ended the game with solid work at the charity stripe to put away FLC, 81-71.
Game Notes: The squad's scrappy defense allowed them to snag 11 steals and force 18 Skyhawk turnovers.
