Armitage, Case and Flores make RMAC All-Academic First Team, Nine Others Earn Honor Roll Recognition

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the 2021 RMAC Softball All-Academic Teams on Thursday. Graduate student Taylor Armitage and juniors Jessi Case and Madison Flores were selected to the RMAC All-Academic First Team while nine others claim spots on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
 
To be considered for Academic All-RMAC, a student-athlete needs to maintain a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two semesters in a row or three consecutive quarters.
 
Armitage (Berthoud, Colo.) find herself on the RMAC All-Academic First Team for the first time in her career. She is a three-time RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll selection, earning the recognition in 2018, 2019 and 2020. As a graduate student, Armitage boasts a perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA), after posting a 3.74 GPA as an undergraduate. She is pursuing a Master's Degree in Marketing, and this season on the softball field, she has led the team with a 3.52 earned run average and a 13-5 record as a starter. In 113.1 innings pitched, Armitage struck out a team-high 53 batters and held her opponents to a .275 batting average against. She also hit .271 at the plate with three home runs and 12 RBI's.
 
Case (Loveland, Colo.) is another player making her debut on the RMAC All-Academic First Team after a breakout season on the field. In the classroom, she totes a 3.88 GPA as a Business Administration major. The shortstop had a very impressive season in 2021, leading to numerous accolades including D2CCA All-America Third Team, D2CCA All-Region First Team and All-RMAC First Team honors. This award joins a host of others that Case has received this season.
 
Flores (Trophy Club, Texas) is no stranger to the RMAC All-Academic First Team as she earned the recognition as a sophomore in 2020. The junior makes it back-to-back selections with her 2021 honor, repping a 3.965 GPA as a Biology major. Flores started 24 of the 25 games that she appeared in, scoring 16 runs, batting .288 with 19 hits and finishing the season with 13 RBI's. Flores joins Armitage and Case in representing the Regis Softball Team on the RMAC All-Academic First Team.
