DENVER, Colo. - Five members of the Regis University Softball team have been named to the 2026 NCAA Division II Academic All-District® Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Tuesday.
Junior utility Isabella Porter, Sophomore pitcher Sophia Garcia, senior outfielder Olivia Wick, senior pitcher Hallie Crappell, and senior pitcher Vanessa Candito all earned the academic accolade, with Crappell and Wick being repeat selections from 2025.
Wick holds a 3.88 GPA in her Pharmacy degree and led the Rangers with a .435 batting average this year. She recorded 74 hits, 13 doubles, eight triples, two homers, 34 RBI, and 41 runs scored. She also stole 10 bases for RU.
A Psychology major with a 3.99 GPA, Crappell threw 56.2 innings for Regis, striking out 22 batters, and allowing a .332 batting average and 6.55 ERA. She picked up one win in the circle and tossed three complete games.
Leading the Rangers with 15 doubles this season was Porter, who hit .369 with 52 total hits, a triple, and a home run. She batted in 31 runs, scored 29 more, and stole eight bases. Porter is pursuing a degree in Nursing, with a 3.70 GPA.
Garcia has maintained a 3.66 GPA in her Biochemistry major, and led the Rangers with two saves this year. She pitched 48.0 innings, won three games, and threw one complete game, while allowing a .358 average and 5.40 ERA.
The final recipient is Candito, who has a 3.74 GPA in Communications. Leading the team with four wins over 81.2 innings, she struck out 56 batters, made 21 appearances with five complete games, and held batters to .327 hitting and 5.66 ERA.
All five honorees were also on the RMAC Academic Honor Roll.
Eligible nominees must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35.0 innings.
