Regis Makes 2021 Debut in United Soccer Coaches Top-25

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With a 3-0 start in hand including a 2-1 win over last week's United Soccer Coaches (USC) No. 4 ranked team, the Regis University men's soccer team has made their season debut in the USC Division II Top-25 rankings.

Regis has won their first three games of the season in 2021. In the first game, the Rangers disposed of the Saint Martin's University Saints by a score of 5-0. They faced a much bigger challenge in their second game when they matched up with the No. 4 ranked Colorado School of Mines Orediggers. In that game, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Offensive Player of the Week, Kristian Hooker, scored in the fourth-minute of the game to give RU the first lead of the game. The game was tied up later on, but fellow senior Ethan Willson broke the tie with, what ended up being, the game-winning goal in the 48th minute of the contest. The Regis defense held on for the rest of the game, preserving the 2-1 win for the Rangers.

This past Sunday, RU was back on their home field to battle the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks in another non-conference game. That game also ended in a 2-1 win in which Regis played a majority of the match with only 10 men on the field following the issuance of a red card right before halftime. Hooker and graduate student Parker Klein both netted goals in the win.

This week the Regis University men's soccer team (3-0) will look to remain undefeated after they travel to the Pacific Northwest to battle No. 11 ranked Seattle Pacific University and Western Washington University in two non-conference tilts.
