DENVER - The Regis University women's basketball team (9-9,5-6 RMAC) was handed a 75-61 loss at the hands of the Colorado Mesa Mavericks (12-3,7-3 RMAC), Saturday night at the Regis Field House. Graduate student Tashika Burrell led the Rangers with 14 points in the loss.

How it Happened: Regis led 16-15 at the end of the first 10 minutes of play thanks to 50 percent shooting from the field. Mesa came back strong in the second frame though as they went on a 19-9 run through the period.

After halftime, RU cut the Mavs' lead to just two (40-38) after a 13-6 run which was capped by freshman Megan Pohs getting a layup at the 4:52 mark. However, that would ignite Mesa to shoot lights out in the fourth period. CMU shot 67 percent from the field and a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe to seal Regis' fate. In the end, the Rangers fell, 75-61.
