DURANGO, Colo. – The Regis University men's soccer team secured another three crucial points on Thursday with a win over Fort Lewis College, 4-3.

The four goals on the night came from three different Rangers (7-8-2 overall, 4-3-2 RMAC), Rayhan Carlson-Du Toit had two, Kristian Hooker had one, and graduate defender Sam Gardner had his first goal of the season. 

Fort Lewis (3-11-2 overall, 2-7 RMAC) had three goals from three Skyhawks, Loic Jean-Baptiste, Gabriel Legendre, and Evan Kowalski.

How It Happened: The Rangers could not have picked a better time to peak during the season. A strong performance from the attacking six helped secure another three points to further ensure the Rangers' spot in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference postseason tournament. 

The first goal of the night, and for the Rangers, came in just the fourth minute after senior Vilhjalmur Kaldal danced with a defender and found a square of space before chipping in a beautiful pass to the middle of the 18-yard box to an awaiting Hooker. 

Hooker trapped the ball with his right foot, and knocked the ball into the net with his left past a diving Skyhawks goalkeeper.

The Rangers' offense decided to keep their foot on the gas, and scored another in the 6th minute off a corner kick from senior forward, Kevin Cela.

The ball found the team's leading goal-scorer, Carlson-Du Toit, in the middle of the penalty box and the sophomores wasted no time sneaking in a strike to the bottom-center of the goal.

The Skyhawks would score their first of the night off a shot from Loic Jean-Baptiste. 

Out at Dirks field, even the defensemen got a shot at the goal on Thursday as Gardner scored his first of the season in the 12th minute. 

The corner kick from Cela arced over the Skyhawks' defense. The ball made its way to Carlson-Du Toit who headed it towards Gardner, who also used his head to send the ball into the back of the net for the Rangers' third goal of the night.

The Rangers' attacking six, however, decided they weren't done. Carlson-Du Toit's brace came in the 25th minute after a bad touch from a defender. 

After quickly capturing the loose ball, Carlson-Du Toit passed it to the right to Hooker, who passed it back and deposited the ball just ahead of the sophomore forward, allowing Carlson-Du Toit to rip his third shot and second goal of the night.

The final two Skyhawk goals would come in the 60th and 74th minutes from Loic Jean-Baptiste and Isaac Garro, respectively.
