Red-hot Rangers set to face UCCS in RMAC Tournament quarterfinal

| By:
DENVER, Colo. — The Regis University men's soccer team ended the 2022 regular season the hottest team in the conference, winning four straight games to secure the No. 5 seed in the RMAC Tournament scheduled to get underway with quarterfinal action this Thursday.

Regis (8-8-2 overall, 5-3-2 RMAC) carry a season long four-game winning streak into its quarterfinal matchup against No. 4 seed University of Colorado-Colorado Springs (10-4-4 overall, 5-3-2 RMAC). Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday at Mountain Lion Stadium.

Thursday's showdown will mark the second meeting of the 2022 season between the Mountain Lions and Rangers. In the first game between the two teams, the Rangers got on the board first courtesy of a goal by graduate student forward Kristian Hooker in the 28th minute, but UCCS responded with three second-half scores to take a 3-1 final.

While the Rangers have been surging the final three weeks of the regular season, with points in five of their past six contests, the Mountain Lions enter play Saturday — its first appearance in the RMAC Tournament since 2018 — on a three-game skid.

The winner of Thursday's quarterfinal advances to face No. 1 seed Colorado School of Mines in the RMAC Tournament semi-finals on Sunday, Oct. 30. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Stermole Soccer Stadium.
