GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Regis University women's basketball team (11-15,7-12 RMAC) fell on the road to the No. 3 team in the Rocky Mountain Conference (RMAC) Friday night. Colorado Mesa (20-4,15-4 RMAC) won their 20th game of the season while RU's two-game win streak ended.
How it Happened: The Mavericks got off to a hot start by going on a 17-6 run through the first seven minutes of the first frame. After trailing by as much as 19 points in the first half, Regis weathered the worst of the storm - CMU shot 65 percent from the clip in the opening period.
However, the Rangers couldn't find an offensive rhythm to catch up after the teams emerged from the locker room. Junior
Morgan L. Smith's jumper with five minutes left in the third period put Regis within 14 points. But Mesa stretched their lead back to more than 20 points in the final frame. In the end, Regis fell 52-73.
Game Notes: The teams were neck-and-neck on the glass, Regis had 39 boards while Colorado Mesa had 40.

Sam Deem (3-10 FG, 1-2 3-PT) led the team with 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Sydney Speights (3-3 FG) was close behind with nine points.
Smith (4-5 FG) had eight points off the bench.
