Rangers honor five seniors on Day One

DENVER, Colo. — In their final home weekend of the 2024 season, the Regis University softball team took on the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks on Sunday, while also honoring their five graduating seniors.

The Rangers (26-20 overall, 22-14 RMAC) put up a fight against the Mavericks (37-7 overall, 35-3 RMAC) but were unable to overcome a staunch Mavericks offense.

GAME TWO | HOW IT HAPPENED

Junior infielder Morgan Norris was the star of the show in Game Two, as she was responsible for all four of Regis' runs.

Norris smashed the fifth pitch she saw over the left field fence to score three and help the Rangers to an early 3-0 lead.

Prior to Norris' home run, sophomore outfielder Olivia Wick earned her 27th walk on the season to put one aboard. Junior infielder Miia Campos laid down a bunt right in front of home plate and beat out the throw to set the scene for Norris.

CMU jumped on to the board in the second, and scored four more to take the lead in the fourth.

With the score 8-3 going in to the bottom of the sixth, Norris sent another pitch over the left center fence to cut CMU's lead to four.

Two walks put two Rangers on board, but Regis' offense was unable to push anymore across.

GAME ONE | HOW IT HAPPENED

Jessica Isbell and Rachel Williams combined for Regis' two hits in Game One, but the Mavericks answered with seven hits of their own and combined for 10 runs.

Junior right-hander Kylie Harpman struck out six in her five innings of work.

SENIOR DAY

Prior to Game One, the Rangers honored its five graduating seniors, Alexis Kemp, Katherine Raper, Victoria McMains, Madysun Vaughn, and Carryn Leto.
