| By:
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The official NCAA Division II National Tournament bracket was released on Monday, with the Regis University softball team earning the No. 8 seed following its magical run to the 2024 RMAC Tournament championship.

Regis (32-24 overall) will square off against No. 1 seed West Texas A&M University (48-6 overall), the Lone Star regular season and tournament champion, in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional, hosted by the No. 2 ranked Lady Buffs at Schaeffer Park in Canyon, Texas.

That game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. (Mountain Time) on Thursday, May 9.

The Rangers are making their first NCAA South Central Regional appearance since 2015 and come into the tournament as one of the hottest teams in the country after going an undefeated 4-0 through the RMAC Tournament as the No. 5 seed. A run that included Regis ending a 33-game winning streak for No. 24 ranked Colorado Mesa and defeated No. 10 Colorado Christian on back-to-back days.
