LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association officially announced the 2024 Division II Women's Volleyball Top 25 Preseason Poll on Friday, and the Regis University volleyball team comes in ranked #13.
The Rangers, who went 23-7 last season and won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament, were ranked #12 in last season's final poll. RU collected 543 total points in the poll.
Defending NCAA Division II Champions Cal State LA claimed the top spot in the poll with 1,113 points, including 33 of 47 available first-place votes. Tampa (1,078 points – seven first-place), West Texas A&M (1,034 points – 2 first place), Wayne State [NE] (1,003 points – two first place), and Concordia-St. Paul (955 points - three first place) round out the top-five.
Fellow RMAC opponents MSU Denver (#7) and Colorado Mesa (#17) also earned spots on the poll.
Regis begins their season against Michigan Technological University on Friday, September 6 at the Colorado Mines Oredigger Classic. After finishing the opening weekend with matches against Concord University, #5 Concordia University-St. Paul, and Missouri Western State University, the Rangers co-host the 2024 Colorado Premier Challenge, featuring 12 teams either ranked or receiving votes in the Preseason Poll.
