SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Regis University Women's Soccer team finished their road trip to Texas on Saturday night with a 0-0 tie at Angelo State University (Texas).
The Rangers now sit at 1-4-1, while the Rams are 2-1-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers would take the first shot of the match, an on-target attempt from Alex Baer, in the fourth minute. 15 minutes later, The Rams landed their first shot on goal, but Grace Glover was there for the save. ASU kept the offensive pressure on with three more shots, but none would be on goal, and the teams took the tie into the half.
Angelo State continued to control the tempo into the second, taking seven more shots, one saved by Glover, before the Rangers attempted another. RU had two more shots late in the match, coming from Stella Straubing and Madeline Gardner, but neother found the net, and the stalemate held, 0-0.
"I'm really proud of the team for a really gritty performance tonight against a really strong Lone Star team," said Head Coach Jeff Frykholm. "To get 4 points on the weekend is an accomplishment to be proud of. We have a little momentum now going into the RMAC which puts us in a good space for the grind ahead."
