With the Eagles up 15-10, Regis answered with a pair of free throws and a layup from Eddy Egun. Both teams continued to trade baskets, Trey Bryant would hit one from downtown, and Chigozie Achara would score in the paint, as RU led 21-19. Aaron Ofstun and Bryant would score from behind the arc extending Regis's lead 32-26. Chadron would take back the momentum late in the period, but RU was still ahead, 34-33, at the half.

Achara would score first in the second half with a layup, followed by Egun with a pair of free throws. Chase Mayo Harmon would get a tip in putting RU on top, 51-47, and the Rangers would go on an eight-point run lead by Mayo Harmon's triple and free throws. The Rangers would hit their free throws down the stretch, closing the game 76-70.
