DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Men's Basketball claimed an 83-78 victory over University of Coloraddo Colorado Springs on Thursday night in their first home game of 2025. The Rangers improve to 7-8 (5-2 RMAC) on the year, while the Mountain Lions fall to 10-5 (4-3 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED

Eddy Egun stole the ball from UCCS, leading to a fast break dunk, but Colorado Springs still managed to take a 14-9 lead. Aaron Ofstun scored five straight points to tie the game, and Sanders scored from deep to give RU the 19-18 advantage, then took the ball from the Mountain Lions and found Mayo Harmon for another fast break dunk. Cox joined in, throwing down a dunk of his own off a Mayo Harmon steal. Jalen Brown had three points late in the half, but UCCS scored the final four points, and the game went into the break, Regis ahead, 42-39.
Colorado Springs scored the first six points of the half, but Mayo Harmon's three ended the run. Trey Bryant set up Mayo Harmon and Brown for fast break dunks on back-to-back possessions to put the Rangers up, 55-48, but UCCS managed to chip away at the lead, and tied the game at 60-60 with 9:00 left to play. Mayo Harmon took over the game, hitting three straight three-pointers, and another triple from Bryant put RU up by eight. The Mountain Lions began to foul late, but could not overcome the deficit, and Regis would win, 83-78.
"We put together one of our best second halves of the season," said Head Coach Brady Bergeson. "People will see the shots we made but the difference was in our defense. We were very active and forced hard plays in the second half. We were able to string together just enough stops to pull away at the end. I'm very proud of our team's relentless attitude tonight."
