Box Score DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Men's Soccer team traveled down the road to face Colorado Christian University and left with a 1-0 win. The Rangers improve to 4-4-3 (2-1-1 RMAC) on the season, while CCU falls to 2-8-1 (2-1-0 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Regis opened the match with an early attempt from Ignacio Bellina, but his shot was saved by the CCU goalkeeper. Just a minute later, Kaden Cameron fired off two quick shots, both denied by the Cougars' defense. In the 20th minute, CCU responded with a chance of their own, sending a shot just over the crossbar. The Cougars managed one more attempt late in the half, but it drifted wide, sending both teams into halftime tied at 0-0.
The Rangers came out strong after the break, with Elias Taubo taking the first shot of the second half, though it sailed right of the goal. In the 70th minute, Regis finally broke through when Julian Fally connected on a header, assisted by Jason Robles, to put the Rangers up 1-0. CCU pressed with two late attempts, but Regis held firm to secure the shutout victory.
GAME NOTES
RU would total nine shots, five on goal, compared to CCU's five shots, none on goal.
The Rangers had three corners while Colorado Christian would have two.
RU would receive a red card in the 89th minute.
CCU's Campbell Wolfgram recorded four saves.
