DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Women's Volleyball fell to the Hardrockers of South Dakota Mines University, Friday night, 0-3 (18-25, 18-25, 20-25). The Rangers fall to 1-18 (1-8 RMAC), while the Hardrockers improve to 6-13 (4-5 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
South Dakota Mines jumped out to an early 8–3 lead, but back-to-back kills from Isabella Smith quickly halted their momentum. The Rangers responded with a five-point surge, highlighted by four service aces from Bailey Nichols and a strong kill from Kendal Allaire, narrowing the gap to 16–23. Despite the late push, SDM held on to take the opening set, 25–18.
Nichols opened the second set with a kill, followed by strong attacks from Smith and Brooke Sanford to tie the match at 8–8. Allaire and Braiziah Dixon kept the Rangers in the battle with key points at the net, but South Dakota Mines closed out the set on a four-point run to secure another 25–18 win.
The Rangers came out with a 7-3 lead, led by Dixon and Smith. The Hardrockers battled back to even the score at 10–10, but Smith responded with three more kills to keep RU level at 17–17. However, South Dakota Mines would score a late six-point run, securing set three 25-20.
