DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Volleyball team begins their 2026 campaign this weekend, first serve coming at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open on Friday, August 28.
2025 RECAP
With a new-look roster in 2025, the Rangers went 4-22, including 3-11 in RMAC play, finishing 12th in the RMAC standings.
Senior middle Braziah Dixon and senior outside Isabella Smith both earned All-RMAC Honorable Mention nods. It was Dixon's second All-RMAC honor of her career, leading RU with 82 total blocks. She also delivered offensively, recording 154 kills while hitting an efficient .248 on the season. Dixon was a consistent presence for the Rangers, starting all 26 matches and proving to be a reliable force at the net. Smith emerged as the team's go-to hitter, finishing the year with 239 kills and adding 190 digs. Her versatility and consistency made her one of RU's most dependable performers throughout the season.
Smith and Dixon, along with Krissy Brei and Aaliyah Rodrakkwan, earned spots on the RMAC Academic Honor Roll, while the team collected their 12th consecutive and 21st total AVCA Team Academic Award.
2026 SCHEDULE
Regis starts the year at the Fort Hays State Tiger Classic this weekend in Hays, Kansas. On Friday, RU starts against Eastern New Mexico, followed by the host Tigers, and finishes Saturday against Truman State (Mo.) and Midwestern State (Texas).
The home opener comes against FHSU on September 2 before the Rangers host the Colorado Premier Challenge, the most exclusive DII volleyball tournament in the nation. RU is set to play (RV) Central Missouri and #9 Wayne State (Neb.) in pool play on September 4, before bracket play on Sept. 5. Also featured in the tournament is the 2025 defending national champs, #3 MSU-Denver, #1 Concordia St. Paul (Minn.), #10 Ferris State (Mich.), #19 West Texas A&M, #21 Angelo State (Texas), #22 Bentley (Mass.), (RV) Anderson (S.C.), and (RV) Palm Beach Atlantic (Fla.).
Following the Premier Tournament, RU enters RMAC play. Each team plays each other once, with other matchups coming in the RMAC Regional Pod (CSU-Pueblo, UCCS) and Power Pod (S.D. Mines, N.M. Highlands), which don't affect the conference record.
The RMAC tournament is set for November 10-14, with the top eight seeds earning a bid. The NCAA tournament runs from Nov. 19-December 5.
THIS YEAR'S TEAM
Returners (7)
Sophomore outside Sabrina Landman is the leader on the front line, as the Grand Junction, Colo. native ranked second on the squad in 2025 in kills (166) and blocks (35, 2 solo, 33 assists) while playing all 26 matches.
On the back line, 2025 digs leader (294) Krissy Brei brings extensive experience, leading all current players with 44 matches played in a Ranger jersey.
Additional returners include Lauryn Uyemura, Kendal Allaire, Alayna Pruitt, Aaliyah Rodrakkwan, and Jacie Kaniho.
Newcomers: 10 (five freshmen, five transfers)
Kailyn Polzin (Jr., OH, Alamosa, Colo., Centauri HS, MSU-Denver) and Nicole Shaver (Sr., S, Cheyenne, Wyo., Bradshaw Mountain HS, Quincy University (Ill.), Laramie County CC (Wyo.), New Mexico Highlands) both transfer from within the RMAC, while Morgan Munro (Grad., M, Firestone, Colo., Mead HS, Marist University (NY), Grambling State (La.)), Callie Parker (Jr., OPP, Concordia, Kan., Concordia HS, Cowley College (Kan.)), and Eduarda "Duda" Silva (Jr., DS/L, Aracaju, Brazil, Colegio Modulo, Midland College (Texas)) bring experience from across the country and every level of collegiate volleyball.
The five incoming freshmen include Cady Knight (Fr., L/DS, Monument, Colo., Lewis-Palmer HS), Maddie Lynett (Fr., S, Littleton, Colo., Columbine HS), Annelise Miller (Fr., OH, Falcon, Colo., Falcon HS), Lynn Sanders (Fr., MB, Dallas, Texas, Lakeview Centennial HS), and Ciara Williams (Fr., M, Frisco, Texas, Rick Reedy HS).
COACHING STAFF
Head Coach Joel List beings his 10th season at the helm of the program, and 21st year with the Rangers overall. He holds a 172-83 record (.675), and has collected two RMAC Coach of the Year Awards 2017, 2019) and three Regional Coach of the Year accolades (2017, 2019, 2023). Under list, the Rangers have led DII in blocks per set twice, won two conference championships and three conference tournaments, made five NCAA Tournament appearances, and one NCAA Final Four.
With him are Associate Head Coach Amy Watanabe (2nd season), Assistant Coach Paul Martin (19th season), and Assistant Coach Brock Munoz (2nd season).
IN THE POLLS
The Rangers garnered 67 points in the RMAC Preseason Coaches Poll, placing 10th out of 15 teams.
