DENVER, Colo. – United Soccer Coaches has released its fifth weekly Women's Soccer Top 25 Coaches Poll, and the Rangers move into the Top 25, ranked #25.
Regis had been receiving votes for four consecutive weeks.
The Rangers went 2-0-0 last week, recording two home wins over RMAC opponenets to move to 4-0 in league play. RU defeated CSU-Pueblo, 2-1, on Thursday night. RMAC Offensive Player of the Week, Fernanda Rodriguez, assisted Andie Rylance for the first goal of the match, then Aaliah Barwick set up Elsa Nolen for the game-winning goal. On Sunday, Regis hosted the Preseason RMAC favorite, #9 Colorado School of Mines, and collected another 2-1 victory. Rodriguez and Rylance assisted Natalie Bunch to tie the match in the second half, then Brooke Castillo found Rodriguez for the game winner.
Regis moves to 2-1-0 against ranked teams on the year. The wins came over #21 Seattle Pacific, and #9 Mines (now ranked #11). The lone defeat came on the road at #15 Dallas Baptist (now ranked #3).
The last time Regis broke into the Top 25 was the seventh poll of 2017, when the 10-1-2 Rangers were ranked #16.
Three other RMAC teams appear in the poll as well, including #9 Colorado School of Mines, #15 University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, and #23 Colorado Mesa University. For the full poll, click here.
