COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference has released the fifth edition of its 2025 Women's Soccer Player of the Week Awards, and Regis University's Fernanda Rodriguez has been named the league's Offensive Player of the Week.
It is Rodriguez's first weekly accolade of the year, and she is joined by the Defensive Player of the Week, Malia Groshong, of UCCS, and the Goalkeeper of the Week, Marin Mackenzie from Westminster.
Rodriguez is the third different Ranger this year to earn the league's Offensive Player of the Week award, along with Natalie Bunch and Elsa Nolen. Morgan Black has also earned a Defensive Player of the Week award.
A sophomore forward from Vista, Calif., Rodriguez led the Rangers to a 2-0 week in RU's first two home conference matches of the year. In the 2-1 victory over CSU-Pueblo, Rodriguez assisted Andie Rylance on the first goal of the match, and added four shots with one on goal. Then, in a battle against #9 Colorado School of Mines, Rodriguez assisted Bunch's score that tied the game at 1-1 in the second half, then put in the game-winner in the 74th minute.
Rodriguez has 14 points on the year with five goals and four assists.
Rodriguez and the Rangers travel to Westminster University on Thursday, October 9, for a match at 7 pm, and to UCCS on Sunday, Oct 12, for a 1 pm kickoff.
