Bryant's Double-Double Helps Extend the Rangers' Winning Streak to Seven

DENVER, Colo. – Regis University Men's Basketball team defeated New Mexico Highlands University 87-65, on Saturday afternoon. The Rangers improve to 12-8 (10-2 RMAC), while the Cowboys fall to 8-12 (1-11 RMAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED

After trading baskets, the Cowboys jumped out to a 17-10 lead. Kobe Sanders regained the momentum for the Rangers with back-to-back triples and a layup, but they still trailed 21-20. Jumpers from Trey Bryant and Eddy Egun sparked RU's nine-point run, with shots in the paint putting them ahead 36-29 as they headed into the half.

Sanders and Cox opened the scoring for Regis, combining for an eight-point run. Bryant extended RU's lead with a triple followed by a defensive rebound and layup, pushing the score to 53-38. Dylan Forbord then nailed a three-pointer, adding to the Rangers' hot streak. Regis took control in the second half with a dunk from Chi Archara and a layup from Egun, giving them a 61-48 lead. The Cowboys tried to stop the momentum, but Regis kept pressing. Free throws from Bryant ultimately sealed the Rangers' 87-65 victory.

"We had a lot of guys step up with the absence of some key guys," said Head Coach Brady Bergeson. Our team has really locked in on our roles and how to find ways to win. We were tough and we were smart today. It's a good combination," concluded Coach Brady Bergeson.
