DENVER, Colo. – Regis University Men's Basketball team defeated New Mexico Highlands University 87-65, on Saturday afternoon. The Rangers improve to 12-8 (10-2 RMAC), while the Cowboys fall to 8-12 (1-11 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
After trading baskets, the Cowboys jumped out to a 17-10 lead.
Kobe Sanders regained the momentum for the Rangers with back-to-back triples and a layup, but they still trailed 21-20. Jumpers from
Trey Bryant and
Eddy Egun sparked RU's nine-point run, with shots in the paint putting them ahead 36-29 as they headed into the half.
Sanders and Cox opened the scoring for Regis, combining for an eight-point run. Bryant extended RU's lead with a triple followed by a defensive rebound and layup, pushing the score to 53-38.
Dylan Forbord then nailed a three-pointer, adding to the Rangers' hot streak. Regis took control in the second half with a dunk from Chi Archara and a layup from Egun, giving them a 61-48 lead. The Cowboys tried to stop the momentum, but Regis kept pressing. Free throws from Bryant ultimately sealed the Rangers' 87-65 victory.

GAME NOTES
Bryant recorded a double double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and led RU with six assists.
Sanders led all Rangers with 28 points followed by Egun's 23.
Highlands was led by Kenard Richardson with 20 points shooting 57% from the field.
Regis outshot the Cowboys, 47.6% to 38.7% from the field and 44.8% to 15.8% from deep.
