LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The Regis University Men's Basketball team was defeated during their RMAC road trip to Colorado Christian University on Thursday night. The Rangers fall to 15-12 (13-6 RMAC), while the Cougars improve to 12-15 (8-11 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Colorado Christian jumped to an early lead, scoring the first seven points of the game.
Chase Mayo Harmon nailed one from downtown, followed by a nine-point run from Regis, which included a dunk from Aaron Ostun. RU led 10-9.
Trey Bryant and Chigozie Achara made layups, starting another nine-point run for the Rangers, who went up 30-21.
Eddy Egun continued the scoring for the Rangers, and
Jalen Page added a pair of free throws to close out the first half, with Regis leading 34-38 at the break.
Mayo Harmon started the scoring for RU, followed by Bryant with the next six points, putting Regis ahead 41-35. CCU answered by scoring the next seven points, closing the lead to just one. Both teams traded baskets with jumpers from Bryant and Brown. The Cougars hit a triple and a layup, going ahead 61-57. Bryant answered with a layup, followed by a triple from Brown and a jumper by Page. CCU hit free throws down the stretch to increase their lead, and RU fell 78-71 on the road.
GAME NOTES
Mayo Harmon led RU with 20 points, followed by Browns 19 points and four rebounds.
Sanders dished four assists.
Bryant totaled four steals.
The Cougars outshot the Rangers 54% to 47.4% from the field and 35.3% to 26.1% from three.
CCU grabbed 32 rebounds while RU had 19.
