Bryant Posts Career Double-Double as Rangers Secure Regular Season Finale Win; RMAC #2 Seed

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Regis University Men's Basketball team concluded their 2024-25 regular season with a 67-65 win over the University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Saturday afternoon. The Rangers finish the year 16-12 (14-6 RMAC) and as the #2 seed in the Conference. The Mountain Lions finish 17-11 (11-9 RMAC).

Both team will compete in the RMAC Tournament. As the #2 seed, Regis will host a first round game on Tuesday, March 4.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jalen Page scored the first basket of the game, then found Olafur Styrmisson for a layup and a 4-0 lead. The Mountain Lions answered with a 13-1 run before an Eddy Egun free throw got Regis back on the board. Trey Bryant had a pair of layups, and Chase Mayo Harmon threw down a dunk as the Rangers shrank the deficit. Mayo Harmon converted an and-one, then a fast break layup assisted by Bryant evened the score at 19-19. Mayo Harmon Threw down one more dunk, Bryant scored from deep, and Jalen brown ended the half with a jumper, but the Rangers still trailed, 28-32.

The teams traded baskets back-and-forth to start the second half, before Kobe Sanders' layup sparked a 10-2 run that also saw a Brown three-pointer and Page jumper. Bryant added a triple and Ty Cox tipped in a bucket as RU began to expand their lead. Egun scored in the paint, then had a steal that led to a Bryant layup, and the Rangers would hit their free throws late to secure the 67-56 win.

"We finished the regular season on a high note," said Head Coach Brady Bergeson. "I'm proud of how we showed up today ready to compete."

GAME NOTES

·        Bryant led all players with a 20-point, 12-rebound double-double, both matching career-highs

·        Mayo Harmon added 15 points and six rebounds

·        William Becker led three Mountain Lions in double-digits with 19

·        Bryant and Sanders each had four assists

·        Both teams struggled form deep, Regis going 3-14 (21.4%), and UCCS 3-21 (14.3%)
