PUEBLO, Colo. – The Regis University Women's Track and Field team competed at the Colorado State University-Pueblo Dr. Dan Caprioglio Early Bird meet on Friday and Saturday. The Rangers collected two podium finishes at the meet.
Lindsey Cure and Bryn McNair, both seeing their first collegiate action, collected silver medals in their respective field events. Cure threw an NCAA DII National Qualifying Standard mark of 44.46m (145'10") in the javelin throw, while McNair cleared 1.65m (5'5") in the high jump.
In other field events, Kimberly Salazar threw 8.39m (27'6.5") in the shot put, while Marisa Martinez posted a mark of 8.08m (26'6.25") and Amy Batista was at 4.13m (13'6.75"). Salazar also had a mark of 27m (88'7") in the discus.
Four Rangers ran in the 400m, with Melayna Barclay posting the best time at 1:04.86, Alex Baer finished in 1:05.91, Gaia Price was at 1:12.53, and Valeria Bustos recorded a time of 1:12.76. Caitie Slattery also ran in the 1500, posting a time of 4:58.81.
The Rangers return to action on Friday, March 28 at the Colorado state University Jack Christiansen Invite.
