GOLDEN, Colo. – The Regis University Women's Outdoor Track and Field team traveled to Colorado School of Mines this weekend for the Mines Kit Mayer Classic. The Rangers recorded three top-10 finishes.
Regis was led by Lindsey Cure, who secured the first gold medal in program history. She claimed first in the javelin throw with a mark of 43.79m (43'8"), beating out a pool of DII and DI competitors.
Bryn McNair took fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.65m (5'5"). Dorothy Freeman also competed in the high jump, clearing 1.45m (4'9").
Other field event competitors include Kimberly Salazar posting marks of 8.03m (26'4.25") and 26.78m (87'10") in the shot put and discus, respectively. Amy Batista threw 4.66m (15'3.5") and 11.69m (38'4") in the events. Marisa Martinez threw 25.16m (82'6") in the discus.
Allie Braney was the final top-10 finish, taking 10th in the 3000m steeplechase. She posted a time of 12:40.47, while Caitie Slattery was just behind her at 12:47.89.
Slattery also ran the 1,500 in 5:03.55, while fellow Ranger Valeria Bustos finished the event in 6:30.67.
Alex Baer ran in both hurdle competitions, finishing the 100 hurdles in 17.16 seconds and the 400 hurdles in 1:12 .93.
Madilyn Gifford posted a time of 2:36.64 in the 800, while Abigail Blanner finished in 2:36.64. Gaia Price had a time of 1:10.94 in the 400.
The Rangers return to action on April 19 at the Colorado School of Mines Pre-Conference Meet.
