DENVER, Colo. - Five members of the Regis University Softball team have been named to the 2025 NCAA Division II Academic All-District® Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Tuesday.
Junior pitcher Hallie Crappell, senior pitcher Kylie Harpman, senior catcher Abby Larsen, junior outfielder Olivia Wick, and junior outfielder Mya Chacon earned the academic accolades.
It is each of the student-athletes' first time receiving the honor.
A Psychology major boasting a 3.99 GPA, Crappell led the Rangers with five wins this season. She pitched 72.0 innings, allowing a 5.75 ERA and .309 batting average. The Morgan City, La. native struck out 23 batters, and pitched one shutout in seven complete-game outings.
Harpman, a senior from Fort Collins, Colo., earned a 3.98 GPA while earning a degree in Nursing. She went 1-3 on the mound over 13 appearances and nine starts. Over 42.0 innings of action, batters hit .374 against her and she posted a 9.0 ERA.
A native of Fort Collins, Colo., Larsen holds a 3.98 GPA, and is pursing a degree in Marketing. She recorded 25 hits, including four doubles and a homer. Larsen scored 14 runs, and batted in 19. She was also walked 10 times, and stole seven bases.
Wick has maintained a 3.78 GPA in Pharmacy School, and was an All-RMAC Honorable Mention this year. She led the Rangers with a 1.000 OPS, .561 slugging, and .439 on base percentage. She also hit .341 with 45 hits. Wick, who hails from The Colony, Texas, recorded seven doubles, two triples, and six home runs. She scored 33 runs, batted in 34, and stole 20 bases. In left field, Wick eanred 80 put outs, and seven assists.
The final Ranger to earn a spot on the All-District team was Chacon, a mathematics major with a 3.77 GPA. The All-RMAC Honorable Mention led Regis with a .370 batting average, 45 runs scored, and 60 hits. From 29 Palms, Calif., Chacon produced five doubles, batted in 12 runs, and stole 22 bases. On defense, she recorded 86 put outs, 34 assists, and a .976 fielding percentage.
Crappell, Harpman, Larsen, and Wick all earned spots on the RMAC Academic Honor Roll as well.
Eligible nominees must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35.0 innings.
