COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) has released the 2026 Softball Preseason Coaches' Poll and Preseason All-RMAC team, and the Rangers have been voted to finish eighth in the vote.
RU received 57 points, including one second-place votes.
Defending RMAC champions Colorado Christian were picked to repeat, collecting 117 points including seven first-place votes, and four second-place. Colorado Mesa placed second at 109 points (3/5/2), just ahead of MSU-Denver at 102 (2/2/5).
UCCS picked up the final five third-place votes, finishing at 87 points, while CSU-Pueblo rounded out the top-five at 75 points.
Colorado School of Mines (6th, 68), Black Hills State (7th, 64), and Regis were closely bunched in the middle of the table.
Following RU is New Mexico Highlands (9th, 35), Fort Lewis (10th, 32), Chadron State (11th, 30), and Adams State (12th, 16).
Regis finished 8th in the conference standings last season with a 20-24 conference record (21-32 overall). The Rangers recorded notable victories over CCU and CMU.
Leading Regis will be 2025 All-RMAC Honorable Mention senior outfielder Oliva Wick. Wick recorded 45 hits and 33 runs scored on .341 hitting last year, including seven doubles, two triples, and a team-high six home runs for a .561 slugging %. She also batted in 34 runs and posted two sacrifice hits. Defensively, Wick recorded 80 putouts and seven assists with two double plays.
RU begins their season February 6-8 at the D2 West Coast Challenge in Lake Elsinore, Calif., starting with Northwest Nazarene on Feb 6 at 12 pm.
