PUEBLO, Colo. – The Regis University Men's Basketball team traveled south on Saturday for a matchup with RMAC foe Colorado State University-Pueblo, but left with a 57-82 loss. The Rangers fall to 1-13 (0-8 RMAC), while the Thunderwolves improve to 12-4 (6-2 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Pueblo would score the first 10 points of the game before Luke Soden threw down a fast break dunk, assisted by Cooper Frith. Dylan Forbord also converted a Frith-assisted dunk, while Logan Flores-People grabbed an offensive board for a jumper, and Nick Marabito hit from deep, earning Gunner Walters an assist. However, Pueblo was still able to push their lead to 25-9 before a Matt Yost triple. Walters connected on a jumper, and assisted Forbord's second-chance jumper, while Yost recorded two steals and Soden hit from deep. However, Regis still trailed 27-44 at the half.
Soden scored the first six points coming out of the break, while Frith and Marabito scored in the paint on Walters's assists to make it a 10-point game. But the Pack went on a quick 9-2 run to extend the lead again. Frith scored on back-to-back layups, and Yost connected on a three-pointer, but the Thunderwolves did not relinquish their lead. After a late Soden three and Forbord layup, the final score came to 57-82.
