DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Men's Soccer team routed Metropolitan State University of Denver on Sunday afternoon, 4-0. The Rangers improve to 6-3-3 (3-1-1 RMAC), while the Roadrunners drop to 5-4-3 (2-3-0 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers put the offensive pressure on right away, with a shot on goal from Michael Ajagbe in the first minute. They added four more to go with five corner kicks in the first 15 minutes before Matys Price perfectly centered a corner kick, setting up the header goal for Abram Wilson. Zach Jennings saved the first SOG from Metro, and the Rangers added to their lead in the 33rd minute. Blaise Richard crossed the ball across the box, finding Liam Corr's header on the back side. RU allowed only one more attempt from MSUD before going into the half, up 2-0.
RU put two more shots on goal early in the second, and with less than 25 to play, a Roadrunner received a red card. Regis capitalized on the numbers advantage, with Sahar Golov and Richard moving the ball to set up Jan Grillitsch in the 77th minute, who fired from outside the box and found the upper left corner. Ajagbe added on final score at 83:18 on an assist from Jackson Hammons.
