TEAM UPDATES
VOLLEYBALL
The Rangers embarked on their second consecutive trip up to South Dakota this past weekend as they went 1-1 at the RMAC Power Pod which was hosted by South Dakota Mines.
Regis played in back-to-back days of the Pod with them initially losing to South Dakota Mines 3-0 on Thursday before bouncing back on Friday with a 3-2 victory over New Mexico Highlands.
Both games were nonconference bouts with the victory over New Mexico Highlands being the Rangers' second time to beat them this season.
All three of the Rangers' wins this season have come in five sets as well.
Weekend Notes:
        ·        Kailyn Polzin led all Rangers with 24 total kills with her finishing in double-digits each game
        ·        Sabrina Landman added 22 kills while Alayna Pruitt had 11 for the team's top three
        ·        Maddie Lynett had 47 assists to average nearly six per set
        ·        Cady Knight recorded 48 digs
        ·        Kendal Allaire had five total blocks
Coming up this week the Rangers will now play to a quick turnaround as they feature three games over five days, all being at home.
Regis will play Chadron State on Tuesday at 5 PM for their Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night to begin the week with them then battling Westminster on Friday night at 7 PM for Dig Pink/Parent Night and #RV Colorado Mesa on Saturday at 5 PM for Senior Day.
Chadron State (9-13, 2-8 RMAC) and Westminster (3-19, 2-8 RMAC) are both already eliminated from postseason play while Colorado Mesa (17-5, 8-2 RMAC) is still in the hunt for a conference title as they are tied for second place.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
The Rangers secured their first RMAC Regular Season Championship since 2017 this past weekend as they ended up locking honors on Friday after UCCS beat CMU to take them out of the race.
This is just the seventh time in school history that Regis has been Regular Season Champions.
Following the good news the Rangers then played CMU themselves in their only match of the weekend on Sunday with the game ending in a 1-1 draw.
The draw ultimately ended the Rangers 13-game winning streak but keeps Regis still undefeated in RMAC play with just one more game to play in the regular season.
Regis' 13 game-winning streak was the longest active one in all of Division II at the time as well.
In the most recent IWSOC rankings, Regis was receiving votes and being recognized for the fourth straight week. Furthermore, in the most recent NPI rankings Regis was ranked No. 16 in the nation and fourth in the South Central Region. They are the highest ranking in the RMAC for that poll while being the only team currently recognized in the IWSOC polls.
Weekend Notes:
        ·        Elsa Nolen had the lone goal in the tie with that being her first score of the season
        ·        Paula Igual added the assist as she now has seven on the year
        ·        Regis snapped a two-game losing streak to CMU from their last two matchups
        ·        Maggie Payne and Helen Stagener both split time in the goal with each recording four saves apiece
Regis will play one final regular season game now before they host the RMAC Tournament the following week, starting on Wednesday the fourth.
Their final game will be on the road this Wednesday when they travel to Black Hills State for a 5 PM matchup.
A win or tie for the Rangers will give them an undefeated conference schedule with that feat last being done in 2017.
Black Hills State is 10-3-4 (6-3-2 RMAC) with them having already clinched a spot in the conference tournament and being in fifth place of the conference standings.
MEN'S SOCCER
The Regis men's soccer team won a pair of road games in dominant fashion this past weekend as they moved their win streak to six with victories over both Adams State and Fort Lewis.
The Rangers routed Adams State 6-1 on Friday before then closing the weekend with a 3-1 win over Fort Lewis.
Regis has now scored 20 goals over their last six games while only giving up three in return.
Regis is currently ranked No. 17 in the nation by the United Soccer Coaches which is tied for their highest of the season with the new rankings to be released tomorrow. In the most recent NPI rankings they are also No. 8 in the nation while being fifth in Super Region four.
Weekend Notes:
        ·        Jacobo Betancourt-Tovar scored four goals in the victory over Adams State with that tying the school-record for most points and goals in a single game
        ·        Jan Grillitsch, Blaise Richard, Johan Murillo, Francisco Ruiz and Liam Corr all scored one goal apiece as well
        ·        Grillitsch would also add two assists on the weekend as well
        ·        Zach Jennings totaled four saves in the net with Yoav Paltin also seeing time in the win over Adams State
The Rangers will play in one final regular season contest now when they travel just over to Golden on Wednesday to take on Colorado School of Mines.
With a Regis win and a CSUP loss that day, the Rangers can claim the RMAC regular season title but regardless of how things play out Regis can't fall lower than the No. 2 seed. They clinched their spot into the tournament this past weekend.
Colorado School of Mines sits in very last place of the conference standings this week with them winless this season at 0-14-3 (0-8-1 RMAC)
M/W CROSS COUNTRY
Both the men's and women's cross country teams competed in their final race of the regular season this past weekend with them taking part in the UCCS Mountain Lion Open at Monument Valley Park.
The men's team took 7th/8 teams with 220 total points while being led by Liam Chavez who recorded a 33rd place finish.
On the women's side, they also took 7th/8 teams with a team score of 173.
Allie Braney, however, made school history in the race as she finished in second place while setting a new school record for the 6K with a time of 21.23.1.
This mark had stood since 2010 with her now being in the top three for both women's racing categories of the 6K and the 5K.
Moving into the postseason now, the Rangers will head up to South Dakota on Nov. 7 when they take part in the RMAC Championships, hosted by South Dakota Mines.
