Caitie Turnbow and
Kate Gallery have earned their first College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, the organization announced Tuesday.
Turnbow, a Health and Exercise Science major, earned a 3.654 GPA while averaging 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Gallery, a Sport Administration major, posted a 3.662 GPA and played a pivotal role for the team, earning Second Team All-Conference honors. Gallery averaged 17.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
The Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program recognizes honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), Academic All-America is the longest-running and premier award for athletic and academic success in championship college sports at all NCAA levels, the NAIA, two-year colleges, and Canadian institutions. The all-time list of 42,000+ Academic All-Americans includes major sports stars and some of the world's most accomplished individuals in medicine, business, science, and the arts.
