Denver, Colo – The Regis University Softball team completed the 4-0 sweep of Chadron State College (Neb.) on Friday afternoon with a 6-5 win, followed by a 5-4 walk-off win. The Rangers improve to 12-22 (11-17 RMAC), while the Eagles drop to 4-33 (4-24 RMAC).
GAME ONE
Chadron State opened the game with one run off of two hits, but Sophia Garcia, the pitcher for the Rangers, escaped the inning with two strikeouts while the Eagles left three on base. Jane Quinn reached first base off a single, but RU would finish the inning scoreless.
CSC would finish the top of the second scoreless, leaving one runner on base. The Rangers would start the inning hot, recording a pair of singles from Bella Bordine and Kiauna Smith, but a double play from the Eagles would close the inning.
Chadron State did not score in the third, while RU would go on a two out rally led by a single from Quinn. Isabella Porter would follow with a single to advance Quinn to second and Angelina Romero would bring both runners home with a triple to right field. The Rangers would finish the inning up 2-1.
However, the Eagles would regain the lead by scoring three runs off three hits in the top of the fourth. Olivia Wick would record a single to center field, Jessica Isbell home. Chadron would have no answer, leaving the top of the fifth scoreless. RU would continue their rally with a single from Porter. Smith would advance to first base on a walk, and Kristin Ingram would bring Smith in with a single up the middle.
CSC took back the advantage in the sixth, scoring one run off three hits. The Rangers would regain the lead thanks to a single from Bordine that batted in Porter and Adisyn Rademacher. RU would finish the game holding the Eagles scoreless in the top of the seventh, giving Vanessa Candito her third win of the weekend.

GAME TWO
Chadron State took another first-inning lead with a pair of doubles, bringing in two runs off two hits. Neither team scored in the second, and after the Eagles went scoreless for the second consecutive inning, Regis came out hot in the third. Enyssa Dominguez led off with a single, while Jessica Isbell and Olivia Wick followed with two more. Isabella Porter then brought two runners home off of a double, tying the game 2-2.
CSC recorded just one hit across the fourth and fifth innings. Despite a Wick and Porter single in the fifth, the Rangers also remained runless. The Eagles would start the sixth with a pair of doubles, taking a 3-2 lead.
In the seventh inning, the Eagles recorded two more hits and scored one run. Adisyn Rademacher would start the Rangers half of the final inning with a single, followed by another single from Wick. Jane Quinn would bring in Rademacher off a single, making it a one-run game. A wild pitch would bring Wick home, tying the game at 4-4. RU would end the weekend with a sweep, thanks to a single from Porter bringing the winning run home, securing the win at 5-4.
